"4 year old in severe pain and has to have tooth..."

About: Birmingham Dental Hospital

My child had a hole in his tooth( he is 4 years old and suffering with severe pain was given antibiotics aswell) I went to dentist who filled the hole but said he will have to have it out with another tooth as the hole is close to his nerves on the root so painful! at the Dental Hospital. The Dentist then had to send a letter to tell them the situation then I get a Appointment in post, to my amazement its on the 19th of September and obviously he will need general for it as being so young, apart from missing a day from school, more concerning is he has to wait a month for a emergency to a 4 year old! The filling did break he will have to go through the next month in pain and when I rang up dental hospital they said that this was only a assessment on the 19th September and no treatment is likely and might be another month after this, so my child who is in pain (severe at times) must wait nearly 2 months for treatment surely there are cancellations where people do not turn up and I can take my child, I have decided that this is not acceptable and what is really classed as a emergency? A child in severe pain day and night surely must be seen straight away, the tooth needs to come out what are they assessing how to pull it out? Please tell me how long after a assessment will my child be seen on average and is there no way of seeing him sooner, I was told if I bring him up all they offer is another round of antibiotics which is surly dangerous for his immune system in the long run!
