"Very poor patient care"

About: Maternity care / Antenal Ward (A ward)

(as a service user),

I attended a 20-week scan at the Royal. I had a bad chest and requested to see a doctor so the radiographer told me to go to antenatal! The doctor there was patronising and rude! Told me that because my midwife wasn’t in the royal that I shouldn’t be there - yet had an appointment which I explained to them! And told me when it came to chest that I should go to the GP, yet the radiographer sent me down!!

Very poor patient care - refused to check me over except blood pressure and temperature - nothing to do with why I was there! As if me being unwell has nothing to do with the baby - maternal health overall impacts the holistic development of baby, yet the doctor couldn’t have cared less!!!

Couldn’t wait to get out of the hospital, and today the GP has sent me to A&E with suspected blood clots! Fingers crossed nothing serious - the doctor could have intervened yesterday, but apparently that’s not important to them!!
