"Breast cancer lumpectomy"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Breast Clinic

(as the patient),

Recently diagnosed in October 2022 after a routine mammogram with small lump in my right breast which was HER2 positive.  I was put in touch with the Breast Team in Lanarkshire and was appointed a lovely surgeon called Dr Barker.  Her advice was, to remove it and take some biopsies of the lymph glands at Wishaw Hospital at Day Surgery.

I felt nervous about the procedure  but was soon put at ease by Dr Barker and her fantastic team.

I would like to say a special thank you to nurses Gwen, Susan and Sharon whose attention and professionalism were second to none.   Especially a thank you to Sharon who helped me put on my surgical stockings which I found hard to get the hang of doing.

No problem Karen - delighted to be able to leave some feedback for Dr Barker and her brilliant team. Even although the NHS is under a lot of stress, this particular team showed compassion and professionalism and for that I am very grateful.
