I have inflammatory bowel disease with a J-pouch formed over 10 years ago, and I have rarely had problems with it. However, a few weeks ago I experienced bad stomach problems and was in horrendous pain, so I knew something was wrong.
I have not long registered with my new GP surgery after a recent house move, and they were excellent with me. It is the Mcinnes Medical Centre in Newarthill, Motherwell. I was given a same-day appointment due to the serious symptoms described, I was reviewed promptly and very thoroughly.
The GP sent me to Wishaw General with a letter straight to the surgical ward, where I was admitted for emergency surgery. I would like to thank both GPs at the practice, Dr. Hazelton and Dr. Duffy. They were both very friendly, which put me at ease, and I felt their attention to me and my symptoms was so caring. I felt they both actually listened to my history of events which resulted in me being seen swiftly at the hospital.
I can’t thank them enough, and their wonderful team at the reception. The NHS is under extreme strain at the moment, and this practice is really a credit to the NHS. I would like my thanks to be passed on to the GPs and staff directly, if possible.
"This practice is really a credit to the NHS"
