"Neurovascular Clinic"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Stroke Care (Ward 4D)

(as a service user),

I attended today following an urgent referral from A&E. I was welcomed by Glenda, a kind and gentle nurse who explained what was going to happen and carried out the initial tests in preparation for seeing the doctor.

While I was waiting to see the doctor, the senior nursing assistant, Wendy, popped in to check I was OK and had everything I needed.

Dr. Colin was reassuring, thorough and explained everything clearly and confidently,  which did help to put me at ease. I had multiple tests while in the clinic, including a visit to Ultrasound. I got lost on the way and a kind gentleman at reception in X-ray walked along with me to show me where to go. Gillian, the radiographer, explained everything to me which helped reassure me.

When I returned to the unit, Dr Colin had my scans, which meant he was able to start to form an intervention plan.

I know our system continues to be challenged daily, my experience today reflected a respectful, thorough, professional approach, I got an urgent response to an urgent issue and am thankful for it. Fabulous team. Thank you,
