"Fantastic, effective, professional service throughout"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedic Ward B23 NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Stirling Care Village / Minor injuries unit

(as a relative),

Thank you to NHS Forth Valley for the fantastic treatment my brother in law received on New Years Day following an accident resulting in a bad ankle fracture. From phoning 111 he had an appointment at Stirling MIU within an hour. He had an X-ray - consulted with great staff and was referred to orthopaedics at FVRH through A&E- again seen promptly there.

Back to the house all within 4 hours of our initial contact with NHS FV, having been assessed, treated and a further plan put in place - just a shame no ortho at Stirling so he needed the transfer to FVRH. Still fantastic, effective, professional service throughout. He was contacted by phone at 8:30 the next morning to let him know his local NHS England service had been contacted. He was really well cared for and informed throughout. Well done NHS FV, well surpassed expectations thank you

Dear 2nd daughter

I'm sorry to learn of your brother in law's bad ankle fracture which sounds extremely painful and debilitating. Thanks for sharing your story which is a fantastic example of excellent patient care!

I appreciate your feedback mainly relates to the exemplary service provided by NHS Forth Valley which sounds exceptional. Well done to them!

However, I see a call was made to NHS 24 on 111. I'm glad we were able to help with a referral for your bother in law to have face to face assessment and treatment.

An impressive patient journey indeed which clearly left a hugely positive impression. Thanks again for sharing. I'm sure my colleagues within NHS Forth Valley will be delighted to see your positive comments.

I hope your brother in law makes a full and speedy recovery.

Best wishes to you all for 2023.

Shona
