"Birth of first baby"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I just want to say how amazing the team at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital were. I had quite a traumatic birth with being induced, waters broken, my baby having to be delivered by forceps due to being distressed, and then had shoulder dystocia and I lost 1.8l of blood-This was not how I imagined my birth, but the staff at the hospital were exceptional. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for me. I felt so at ease in their care throughout the whole process until my baby was born.

The care was just exceptional and I would love to thank everyone involved. I wish I could remember all their names - Charlie (anaesthetist, Neil the doctor who delivered my baby, Sharon(head midwife)… she is just amazing and took my baby away for an hour or so whilst I had a nap, Doctor Forster, Sam, Karen, Susan, Kirsten, Erin and Laura. One of the reasons we gave our child the name we did was because one of the ladies who looked after me after the birth had a son of that name,

I am just so thankful for everything you all did. Thank you so much again, I will be forever grateful. Lots of love, Xxxx

Dear jazzgx33

Many congratulations on the birth of your baby. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. So lovely to read that you are happy with your care. It sounds like you had a difficult time throughout your labour. I will share your feedback with the midwifery and medical teams and especially those mentioned, they will be thrilled to receive it. Thank you again
