My very young breast-fed granddaughter was unwell for over 24 hours with a high temperature, and her mum was also ill with symptoms of a cold but she tested positive for Covid 19. The baby was very miserable and would not settle at all, despite her getting paracetamol and ibuprofen. NHS 24 kindly arranged an appointment to see the GP that night. As it happened, baby began to settle a bit, so we phoned NHS 24 again to cancel the appointment, but were advised to attend anyway. This was OK as she was definitely not at all well. Mum was not able to go in but when we arrived (on time) we were told that there were two people ahead of us. Unfortunately we were not admitted to the GP until the early hours of the next day. I just feel that some consideration should be made to accommodate the breast-feeding needs, and had we been asked to show up at the time we were seen, that would have been OK too. As for the consultation, my only disappointment was that the pulse oximeter could not be made to work.
