My elderly mother has advanced heart failure. She became increasingly breathless at home so we called 999. The ambulance team were amazing. Mum was taken to SWAH ED.
Her treatment and care was exemplary in the ED. Following a two night stay in ward 1 she was discharged to the Enniskillen Hospital at Home Team to continue her treatment at home. Every member of the team was respectful, professional, patient and kind.
I have no doubt that being treated in her home aided mum’s recovery from this acute episode. All of them recognised the role I had as my mother’s primary carer.
This is a fabulous service with a multi-disciplinary approach and very person centred as health care should be.
