"Inconsistency about mask wearing"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

I find it confusing that my local health centre now encourages us to get back to normal by having no requirement to wear a mask, yet another local health centre has notices up saying its a requirement, and not strongly recommended as per the Scottish Government's advice.

The latest Cochrane report has concluded that wearing any kind of face covering probably makes little or no difference in reducing the spread of respiratory illness.

Dear allypally49,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

I can understand why this can be so confusing when each surgery have different requirements. GP’s are independent contractors and are responsible for investigating and responding to any concerns a person may have about the service; they are not registered to respond directly to feedback through Care Opinion. Can I please invite you to contact the Practice Manager of the service requiring you to wear a mask if you would like a direct response about the service or you can also contact Primary Care Patient Affairs, I have included their contact details.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
