I suffer from a rare condition and from time to time I'll have blood tests to aid me in self care.
I attended the treatment room at Grove medical practice, Belfast and the nurse was excellent in dealing with me.
I attended the practice to retrieve my blood results and in this I hit a brick wall, as the staff at reception wouldn't give me my blood results. I asked for the doctor to phone me so I could discuss my blood test and was told that I couldn't have a phone appointment with the doctor as they were for emergencies only, so I asked to speak to the practice manager and was told that I couldn't speak to the practice manager either so I finally asked for a complaints form.
I've never been treated so badly the customer care was sadly missing on this occasion. The staff member also wasn't wearing an identification name badge, those NHS staff who deal with the public must wear a name badge.
Later in the morning someone from practice management phoned me, but that didn't alleviate going through such a poor experience.
I feel so annoyed, angry and frustrated that I couldn't get my blood results when I requested them, at that no one sought assistance from other members of staff who were able to give me my results if they hadn't been able to do so! If staff are not trained they should have someone who they can call upon.
