"Access to Rheumatology Treatment"

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

I was initially under rheumatology and have pretty much managed my own flare ups and with great difficulty. My mobility is very limited. I have been trying for 5 months to get back into rheumatology but they tell me I am no longer a patient. Previously I would see a consultant and have injections twice a year. I have never received any correspondence from them. This disease continues to get worse and because I have no access to treatment!

In January it took me 3 weeks to finally get through to my GP who said they will need to make another referral to rheumatology. I have heard nothing since despite having bloods done by GP.

Very sad and awful health service for me anyway.

Thank you for reaching out to us via Care Opinion.

I have contacted the Rheumatology nurses on your behalf and they would like to look into this further for you.

To enable them to do this, I would be most grateful if you could provide me with your details so I can pass them to the Service. You can leave your contact details on 01292 513942 (voicemail) and I will call you back or via email at aa.patientexperienceteam@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

I hope to hear from you further

Kind Regards
