"Sunrise B Ward Very Good"

Thank you for posting your experience on NHS Choices. We are working hard so that every patient receives a high quality service from us. I will pass on to staff on Sunrise B that you found them to be so calm and cheerful. I am also pleased that your father received all the support he needed with feeding while he was on the ward. However, I will follow up your concerns about food and drink on the Medical Assessment Unit. It might have been that he needed to be reviewed by a doctor before he was provided refreshments, but we should never let a patient get dehydrated, even if they are ‘nil by mouth’. We have introduced ‘comfort rounds’ to make sure patients coming to the hospital are able to access hot drinks and food without lengthy waits, and I will personally check during my Clinical Leadership days that this is happening on MAU.
