"Transnasal endoscopy - not to be feared"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Thank you to Dr. Gilchrist and the endoscopy nurses who were all professional and caring whilst carrying out a transnasal endoscopy (without sedation) on me last week. Everyone was friendly, kind, and supportive and this helped create a calm environment.

I received good information beforehand and at the appointment. I was encouraged to ask questions and was informed how I would feel after the procedure and when I could eat/drink again.

I believe this all helped me to relax and endure the procedure without too much trouble, despite feeling anxious having experienced a failed attempt at another hospital previously. Thank you.

Dear Incognito

Many thanks for your kind words regarding your visit last week to our regional endoscopy unit at QMH.

It was good to hear that you received good information before your procedure which you felt made you relaxed which allowed the procedure to be carried out by our professional and caring team.

I will pass on your kind words to the team and Dr Gilchrist.

your sincerely
