I rang the Immunology department to check if they could help me. I needed a letter to confirm a health issue.I didn’t know if they would be able to help but I know that they will always listen and will help if they possibly can. I think it was a receptionist /office manager called Angela who took my call. She is always very professional and efficient. She took brief details and told me that someone would get back to me. The Immunology department is always extremely busy but I always feel that the staff always make time and I feel supported as I manage my health issues.
I got a phone call from a clinical fellow called Dr Beverland later that day. He was on my call when he had to leave to attend an emergency. I was very surprised when he took time to ring back. I explained my problem as briefly as possible and told him that there was no need to ring back if the department couldn’t help. I didn’t want to take any more of their valuable time. Dr Beverland had to refer my query to one of the Consultant Immunologists. I am not sure if Dr Devlin , Dr Coulter or some other senior member of staff approved my request. Dr Beverland relayed my query very accurately and I received a letter with exactly the information I required.
I am very thankful to Angela, Dr Beverland and all the staff in the immunology department who support me as I navigate my health issues. I really appreciate their care and support. They are an excellent team and demonstrate the very best of inter-professional practice.
