"Our mother's care in the community."

About: Access 1st / Home Care and Reablement Service Adult Health Services / District Nursing General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service

(as a relative),

Our mother has just passed away. We took her home from a hospital to look after her at home after some upset in a hospital. The community nurses from Renfrewshire,  Nicole , Robyn, Erin, student nurse Kerry. Inverclyde Out of hours, Sandra and Gemma. I am sorry that there are the names of nurses & HCSW that  I cannot remember.

Everyone who came to our home to help care for mum were kind caring and worked with her and us very sensitively whilst carrying out the care needed. I appreciated everything they have done for us and they made a very difficult time more comfortable for us. We were invited to call nurses when we needed to and they always responded very quickly and I know that is not always easy. They made time for us and never made us feel rushed.

Dr Parkhill and dr Parker from Houston/ bridge of weir gp practice were also wonderful in making sure we had everything we needed for mum and called to ask how we all were. The reception staff there are  kind and sensitive.

Inverclyde and Kilmalcolm carers, supported us when caring for mum and we cannot thank them enough.

The ambulance staff who took her to hospital and then home for end of life care a huge thank you for how gentle and caring they were too.

It’s often said that words are not enough and it’s true. But please know that you are all amazing and made a wonderful difference to mum and her family’s life. I feel very privileged to have had you all looking after mum
