"Kindness, care, compassion and patience"

About: Lorn & Islands Hospital / Outpatients Department

(as a service user),

I had to have a colonoscopy. I had already had 4 previous experiences of this procedure. Certainly then I was cared for very well indeed. For a not very pleasant procedure I most certainly found this experience an even “ enjoyable” and definitely a more comfortable one. The level of care was even higher than my original experiences those being at an already high level. I remain in awe of and always full of gratitude to all those involved in this profession. Highly undervalued.

My initial consultation was with Mr Zawal but the procedure was carried out by Mr Alubaidi and his team on that day. Mr Zawal made me feel at ease and was calming and clear with the information he gave me and was very willing to answer any of my questions and concerns. Mr Alubaidi was the same when he came to talk to me before the procedure. The attending male nurse who attended me that day was involved with the sedation side and gave all my options and the role they played.

My thanks go to everyone on all levels and at all stages with whom I had interaction that day. So much kindness care compassion and patience with smiles on their faces which I could now see as that day masks were no longer required.
