From a nervous and anxious patient who was treated with care, kindness, respect, professionalism and detailed step by step information on what was going to take place that day, as soon as I arrived by ALL members of the team, starting with the receptionist, it doesn't get much better than that.
Following much media frenzy about the NHS over the last 12 months I must admit I was concerned about my personal welfare on the day of my minor procedure. My only previous hospital experience was as a private patient at a BUPA hospital. My concerns were soon put to rest by the very friendly and approachable receptionist.
The reassurance given by the nurse when being checked in was excellent, as I had been concerned, worried and anxious for a number of days prior to my visit. The detailed advice and support provided at this stage certainly helped to relax me. What surprised me after the event was how easy it would be to treat patients as if they were in a process and not to treat everyone as an individual this was most definitely not the case.
When I went into the room for my procedure the nurses and the doctor were caring, understanding and made me feel as if I was the first patient of the day even though they must have dealt with many before me. I was cared throughout the small time that I was in daycare and offered every opportunity to ask as many questions as I wanted.
As I left I felt strongly that I must express my gratitude and make sure that my feedback was shared to balance those few occasions when the care may not have been up to this high level experienced by other patients.
Well done Neville Hall and your team in my eyes this was legendary care.
