"Very caring and pleasant staff"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Elective Overnight Stay Centre/Gynaecology Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My time on the Female Surgical Ward has been absolutely grand – the staff have been very caring. The only issue I have had is a noisy patient on the ward, but everything has been fine other than that. I have been in for almost a week now after having a fall at home. Every doctor and nurse I have met has been very nice and pleasant. I would like to mention a few staff members in particular. Marianna, the axillary, has been great, as has student nurse Claire. Nurse Michelle who is on today has been particularly kind – she brought me a cup of tea this morning to help settle me down as I was feeling a bit sick.

The ward is incredibly clean and comfortable. The food has been great, particularly the lovely soups. However, some food options are better than others so you have to pick the right ones.

Daisy Hill Hospital really is a lifeline for the area and community here and the people really would be lost without it.
