"Professional, thorough and kind"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Xrays and scans Perth Royal Infirmary / Urology

(as a relative),

My husband was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and is waiting for a bone scan to see if it has spread. We have been most impressed with the care and support we have received from the staff at Ninewells and Perth Royal Infirmary on four separate visits. The staff have been professional, thorough and kind and explained the processes clearly. The booklets are also very good. The only downside has been having to travel to Perth rather than having all the appointments in Dundee, which is much easier for us.

After what we have just heard

We will not use the C word.

It’s a swelling, just a fluke.

Let’s call it a prostate pluke.

We hope it will atrophy,

Shrivel and curl up and die.

many thanks for your positive feedback which I will share with all the staff. It is a difficult time for our men and families and our aim is to ensure that you are well informed and supported throughout this journey. Our service has developed over the years from feedback from patients. Ideally we would like to provide all our services to be close to where you live however our ultimate aim is to deliver high quality of care during the diagnostic part of your journey. Our premises in Perth allow this to happen.

Again we are very grateful for you taking time to give this feedback
