I’ve been admitted to Skye House on two occasions now and each time I have been severely disappointed with the lack of care shown by the doctors; One in particular I find to be completely ignorant to the individual needs of their patients and appear to make it their goal to categorise everyone into a box. If people do not fit this box (I didn’t) it feels like then they appear to try their hardest to get you to say something that they can use against you.
For example: I was asked about my clothes and if I preferred them baggy so to hide my body, to which I replied no as I wear a variety of things. I think I know what they were trying to insinuate. It feels like they can’t see past a diagnosis of Anorexia, despite being told repeatedly that it was a misdiagnosis. It also feels like there is no understanding demonstrated that shows they are knowledgeable in treating Autistic people. I find them awful and they barely see their patients and makes decisions about them without fully knowing them.
