"Horrible hospital food and service"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

(as a service user),

Whenever I order a meal it's never what I order. I went 3 days without lunch and dinner because they couldn't send the right order up.

I specifically order plain meals because I don't eat vegetables. I'm in with a chronic diabetic foot ulcer and I need food to fuel my body to heal. I'm in 3 wks and I have lost 5kgs in weight since I came in because of the lack of meals and this is just not good enough.

Dear Mr JRRWS

I can only apologize for your experience as outlined above. In order for me to investigate this further, can I please confirm that you are an inpatient in ward 24 AMU as you have explained that you are currently an inpatient for three weeks and AMU ward 24 is a short stay unit with patients usually only being admitted for 24-48hours.
