"Being spoken to and tears whilst in A&E"

About: Hospital Of St Cross / Pain Management

(as the patient),

I drove myself to St Cross, as I was told there were no ambulances available, I had stabbing pains in my stomach that were making me sick and feel as if I were going to pass out.

After getting there A&E was empty and there were two ambulances in the bay.

I was seen after 10 mins and taken through to Triage, triage then sent me through to the A&E ward. I was screaming in pain and got told to stop being silly and keep the noise down.

I was told I would be given pain relief until the nurse saw self harm marks on my legs, they asked are those track marks? I was absolutely shocked and disgusted. After that I was told they were not treating me and that I was going to Walsgrave. I can’t write what else they said because I found it absolutely vile. My treatment was appalling. I had to discharge myself from Walsgrave yesterday because I was told if my car wasn’t moved after 24hrs I would be charged £100 plus £8 a day. I can’t afford that. I’m back at home and not fully recovered. I couldn’t even wait for the results of my CT scan because I was so worried about the car and charges.
