I had to be brought into the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy by ambulance. I did have a 2 hour wait before the ambulance arrived.
The ambulance crew were great ,they were very friendly and chatty Once we arrived at the hospital I had a very long wait outside the Accident & Emergency Department. In my opinion this all has a knock on effect as the ambulance crew have to wait too and cannot leave until the patient is taken into A & E.
I was transferred to ward 9 (Radical Assessment Unit) this is a very good ward the staff in here are all very friendly. I have had to have an X Ray and a scan . The physiotherapist came to see me but could not do anything until the results came back.
I have had a good welcome into the ward the staff all introduced themselves to me this made me feel so much more relaxed.
Although the staff are always kept busy they seem to handle the workload well. If I need anything I just press the buzzer.
The menu has a good choice maybe just not always to my taste but the soups are very good.
I think it is a good idea having open visiting here in Ward 9.
The staff are very helpful with washing etc They are always up for a laugh , always joking and this really helps to keep my spirit up.
I cannot fault any of the care I have had in all of the areas I have been in .
