"Understaffed"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This is the third night I have been in hospital with my child I would definitely say that they are overworked and understaffed and as a result, I have noticed that they can sometimes can come across quite rushed which can lead to a sense of uneasiness.

Other than this, the ward is brilliant and spacious. My child is definitely content as it is a blessing to have a bed for the parent in the room but we just want to get to the bottom of what is causing the sickness.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry that your child is now in hospital a few days; I do hope that the team get to the bottom of your child's complaint and that they recover soon. I appreciate that the ward can get quite busy and when the patients are sicker it can be an additional pressure for colleagues. The staff will be unhappy to read your comments as they do not mean to make service users feel uneasy, so sincere apologies if this has been your experience, it was not their intention.

I wish you and your child well

Regards

Bernie
