After an urgent referral to ENT for suspected acoustic neuroma was given a very perfunctory assessment by Consultant.
The Consultant did not take a full medical history and focused on the slight one-sided. hearing loss, despite other symptoms being advised upon referral.
Consultant advised they would like to do a telephone review rather than send a letter which as ENT found somewhat unhelpful and indeed rather illogical given speciality dealing in, one imagines, hearing loss.
MRI with contrast ordered and blood tests for same. Blood tests undertaken locally at hub the following day but now discover that MRI referral is routine and will take up to 12 weeks which I further understand is out with protocol and indeed targets .
