"Ulcer in my eye"

About: Outpatients Services / Level 8B Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

My optician referred me to eye casualty recently. I was given drops and an antibiotic. Also the registrar took a scrape from the ulcer to check that the treatment I was receiving was effective. I was told to attend again on the following Monday.

The lady that I saw was I think an ophthalmic nurse and she was wonderful, I was also seen by another registrar who assured me the medication I was receiving was doing its job. Finally I attended today to level 8B and the doctor who examined me said all was good and that I did not need to attend again.

I just want to emphasis that the treatment that I received from my initial examination by my optician to my discharge today was second to none - from the staff and nurses who book you in and do initial tests, to the ophthalmic nurses, registrars and consultants who checked on my progress.

So contrary to popular opinion, the NHS is not completely broken !! Thank you.
