"Cancer diagnosis"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

An innocuous lytic lesion in my vertebra was found to be a carcinoma following a biopsy.

The orthopaedic consultant (Mr Shekhar) responsible for my care was very efficient and initiated referrals for scans and to other specialisms. All responses have been timely and staff have been efficient.

In the radiotherapy suite the radiographers were excellent (sorry too many names to remember); they also readily agreed to my granddaughter (who is a budding radiographer) visiting the treatment setting.

A special mention is made of Bob and Jackie who, among others, work on reception at the radiotherapy suite in Ninewells. Together they all ensured that things ran smoothly and provided a warm and reassuring atmosphere.

Dear quebecer66, thank you very much for taking the time to feed back your experience in our Radiotherapy Department at Ninewells. It is gratifying to hear that you were happy with the manner in which you were treated and hopefully we will gain your granddaughter as a radiographer in the future! I appreciate you mentioning myself and my colleague Jackie. It is always our intention as part of the team to make our department as relaxing, informal and welcoming as possible.

I will pass on your kind words to all in our department and wish you well.

Kind regards... Bob
