"They are amazing at what they do"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Endometriosis Service Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Same Day Admissions Unit

(as the patient),

I’ve just been discharged following a laparoscopy for removal of endometriosis at the QEUH, and I couldn’t have asked for better care.

Anna in the pre-op clinic was so nice and took her time to make sure I knew what the plan was for the day of my surgery. Grace in the SDAU was lovely and so kind. The anaesthetists and ODPs were great and made me feel at ease when it came time to be put to sleep.

After my surgery I was transferred to ward 49 and I couldn’t fault a single staff member. The nurses and student nurses were so kind, taking the time to chat to me, made sure I kept on top of my pain and always reminded me they were there if I needed anything.

The HCSWs were lovely and cheery, making me plenty of cups of tea, which is just what you need when you don’t feel yourself. The morning after my surgery the senior charge nurse popped in and made sure I knew when the doctors would be coming by and when I could go home which was so nice.

Dr Hawthorn was great. It was a long 2-year wait for surgery, but I couldn’t have asked for a better team. It’s obvious he knows his stuff, he made sure I was informed about what my surgery entailed and I felt involved in the decisions about the care I received.

The NHS is under huge pressures and the QE is such a busy hospital, but you would never know with the way the staff cared for me. Honestly can’t thank them enough for taking such good care of me. The care was excellent and they are amazing at what they do. Thank you so much!

Dear Capricorn88

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

Thank you very much for commenting on how well the Endometriosis team met your needs during your recent episode of care at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

I have shared your feedback with Dr Hawthorn, SCN Dunn and all of the staff. They are delighted to receive this.

I hope you are doing well at this time and recovered well from your surgery.

Best wishes

Isabel Traynor
