"Staff shortages"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

The staff at hospital were lovely since being admitted, very friendly and trying to do the best they can but lying in sodden sheets for nearly 5 hours one day and nearly 7 hours the next day was not very pleasant at all.

In addition, being told you can't have a shower and wash your hair as there aren't enough staff to support you to do it safely was very frustrating. I felt grotty, embarrassed and dehumanised. There just aren't enough staff.

Dear waterge54

Thank you for the positive comments that our staff were both friendly and trying to do their best, we are sorry you felt you were left in a bed with wet sheets on a couple of occasions for a number of hours this is unacceptable and falls well below the standards we aim to deliver.

We also apologise that you were unable to have an assisted shower and have your hair washed.

If you would like this sharing with the Ward Sister for a personal response would you please contact our Pals department and provide more detail so we can make contact.
