"For 24 years I carried around my big black dog, until I could take no more"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

My story starts with being a Hillsborough survivor, I was in a very dark place with feeling no hope, for 24 years I I carried around my big black dog, until I could take no more.

I attended my GP in January 2013 (I could not speak to him at this point as I was very down) and he got me an appointment with Inclusion Matters. On my first appointment, I met an absolutely amazing lady who treated me with empathy and kindness (Jeannette).

I can honestly say what a great ambassador this lady is for Inclusion Matters. In all my life I have never experienced a lady like that and for 24 years I bottled all my feelings until I met her (Jeanette). I never ever thought I would come out of the black hole I was in but with Jeannette's help I managed it (god bless her).

I would like to recommend to Heather (operations manager) to give a great pat on the back to Jeanette, because without her I don't think I would be here.

First class service - thank you so much: ) xx

PS: If I can help in any way with future Hillsborough survivors, please contact me. Thank you.

Dear SCOUSEMAN

Thank you so much for your heart warming message. I would love to think other Hillsborough survivors read your message and are able to receive the same quality support from IML. It's obviously made a big impact on your life.

Jeanette is certainly a very valued member of the team and I will make sure she learns about your post, I will also make sure Heather reads your message.

Thank you for your offer to support other Hillsborough survivors, we will contact you should the appropriate ocasion arise.

And thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience on Patient Opinion.

Best wishes and good luck for the future.

Sian
