I was in Craigavon Area Hospital last week and I have to say I couldn’t wait to get back here to the Stroke & Rehab Ward at Daisy Hill Hospital. The staff have all been wonderful and I have had the best care and attention I could ask for. The staff always come into the wards with a smile on their faces and always manage to cheer you up and have a good laugh with you. I really have no complaints. From the porters and cleaners up to the consultants – everyone has been marvellous. Everyone is so understanding. All the staff are going at breakneck speed – I don’t know how they have the energy. I couldn’t name anyone in particular as it is not fair to pick one out over the other. Everyone has been overall excellent and fantastic. Edith has been great. All the explanations from staff have been good – they really go out of their way for you. Any physio or OT I have seen have been great as well – they are all wonderful in their own way.
The only thing I think could be improved is the squeaky door at the entrance to the ward – a bit of WD40 is needed! The noise levels at night are good as well. All the bathrooms have been fine and the food has been grand, I am just not able to fully appreciate the food with the amount of medication I am on at the minute. On the whole, my experience in Daisy Hill has been a good one.
