About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Haematology ward – ward 5

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came into the haematology ward last Friday and will be going home on Tuesday coming. The staff are brilliant and have all been a massive help. The food is nice, it is very clean and I feel safe. I do feel quite isolated in my room but understand that they are all single rooms, just at times it can get a bit lonely. I am lucky that visitors can come in at this stage. Thank you to everyone for your support

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback on your recent stay on our ward. I really appreciate it and find it really beneficial to hear from a patients perspective.

I am happy to read you have felt safe and supported by our lovely team. This means so much to us. I am also glad you have found the ward clean and have been enjoying the food.

I am really sorry you have felt isolated and lonely in your room. We never want a patient to feel like that. Due to the design of the ward all our patients are nursed in single side rooms and appreciate this can be challenging. We do encourage all patients to maximise our current visiting and promote the use of the trust's virtual visiting services to help our patients feel connected to their loved ones while an inpatient. There is a poster in every room explaining how these services can be used. I hope you have now been discharged but please speak to any member of the team if you are readmitted to minimise these feelings in the future.
