My husband had to attend the QMH for what he thought was a urology concern. Urology were very accommodating with him with his other health concerns and the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. He couldn't fault them.
He was scanned previously, then examined at the consultation. A very different diagnosis to what he'd thought was wrong was given and a medication proposed. The lovely staff he spoke with urged him to contact his GP to chase up another health concern that was what they think is causing the urological concern. They advised us that they would be informing the GP of the outcome the next day, day after at the latest. Almost three weeks later and the GP still has not received word back from urology.
The slow response is not all urology's fault, we have been informed that the letter was written and authorised one week after the consultation and is hopefully in the postal system heading towards the GP surgery.
Whilst the staff were fantastic at the consultation, it seems the lack of administrative staff to link the whole chain together is letting patients down and they suffer in pain whilst waiting on letters being delivered.
