Anything else?
My mother, who is 82 and in the early stages of Altzheimer's, had a recent three week stay, first in AMU and then in the Michael Bates ward of the North Middlesex, following a fall at home. We have both been lucky enough to have had no experience of hospitals so we didn't know what to expect, other than horror stories repeatedly appearing in the press. I have to say that I find myself beyond amazed at the whole experience. My mother was treated with the utmost respect and dignity throughout her stay and every single member of staff we encountered was fantastic. The professionalism, patience and dedication shown by nursing staff, health care workers and housekeeping staff was incredible and, although they are all constantly under seemingly impossible pressure from a demanding set of patients, they remain helpful, cheerful and courteous at all times. As an anxoius relative, I was also affored tremendous respect and understanding. I will have no hesitation in telling all my contacts that this is a wonderful hospital.
