"My son and the dentist"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Dental services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son Damian has cerebral palsy and learning disability and is absolutely petrified of going to the dentist. We attended an appointment with Amanda at Cleckheaton Health Centre. Amanda is the therapist and Angela the dental nurse, they are absolutely amazing ladies, they put Damian at ease and managed to clean his teeth. This might not sound like much but to Damian it’s a massive achievement, our normal dentist can’t even get him in the chair long enough to look at his teeth let alone do any treatment. I can’t praise these amazing ladies enough. We are so grateful. Thank you so much.

My role at Locala is to listen to service users and understand how it feels to use our services. I report back to services and managers. I support to make change where needed. I really enjoy my job. Making a difference is important to me!
