My daughter has an ongoing spinal issue and this was a long-awaited Neurosurgical appointment at a specialist centre. We both work in the NHS ourselves and some recent experiences with healthcare have not been good.
Mr Fouyas, however, is an example of all that is good about the NHS. He was warm and welcoming, and explained things beautifully with the aid of a model and my daughter’s MRI scan. He was professional but still showed his sense of humour, and was at great pains to reassure my daughter about her future. There was a lovely medical student in the room too, and she presented as a knowledgeable clinician and not just as an observer.
Thanks to both of them for a very positive experience.
