"Removed from practice"

About: Radcliffe Medical Practice

(as a carer),

I recently received a letter to say I had been removed from the practice. I had received no warning and no reason why except to cite relationship breakdown. I was given 30 days' notice to find a new GP, but they ended it early. Prior to this happening, I had received a letter stating I had failed to attend a meeting with the practice manager but I had explained I had not been notified of this.

Prior to this happening I had made a complaint to the practice manager via email but didn't get a response.

The check-in machine in the surgery wouldn't work and froze at the time my name came up. I had gone to the reception to book in, where they said I had to use the machine and didn't believe me what I told them what happened. The same member of staff said I was lying about my illness when trying to book an appointment.

I had chronic stomach pains and asked for a further appointment after being seen previously but not examined. The member of staff on reception said there were discrepancies in my statement.

I complained and I believe as a result was removed from the practice.

This left me with terrible problems -  i.e. left with no medication and problems finding a new GP as no-one wanted to take me on as they could tell I had been removed from my notes. I felt like an unwanted parcel. It has made me unwell and terrified of the NHS.

I was horrified at how I was treated by this surgery, suddenly being removed in such a way. I have mental health problems, autism/ADHD and a number of complex physical medical problems and diabetes. I had repeatedly asked for mental health help, and feel I got no help and no assistance or reasonable adjustments for autism. In my experience, the surgery was good at first but then went really bad.

I found the staff were really rude and aggressive. It felt like the GP didn't want to know and I ended up seeing trainees etc and it was like having to start from beginning each time I was seen. I felt like they hated me for being unwell and only want healthy patients. Despite begging them to decide, they just ignored me.
