I am so sorry to hear about the experience for you and your ex husband during his recent inpatient stay at Lynfield Mount Hospital.

Sadly, at some points through the day, a hospital ward can have spills or appear unclean. All incidences of spillage are quickly reported to our Housekeeping team as would any form of uncleanliness. Our team work hard to ensure these matters are quickly resolved.

Recent assessments on environmental cleanliness which have taken place on our wards have rated our standards at Lynfield Mount hospital as higher than the national average. These assessments are independently conducted by members of the public and we are not given advance notice of them taking place.

It is sad to hear that you found the staff to be disrespectful and speaking to your ex husband and/or others in the way you report. This is not something we condone at the Care Trust, and regular quality and random visits to the wards by our management team help us identify such instances. Due to the nature of our patients' illnesses it is sometimes found that the ward can be noisy and disruptive. Our staff work hard with patients to minimise and limit the disturbance this can cause.

Future ongoing service developments within our Trust include plans to help us provide more care for people in their community, and where possible, at home. We acknowledge that inpatient environments are not the best environments for everyone and in the next few years we aim to develop day services which will support our ambitions of helping people with mental illness stay out of hospital on every occasion possible.
