"Gleneagles Day Opportunities"

About: Day Centres / Gleneagles Day Opportunities

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son, who has ASD attends Gleneagles Day Opportunities in Perth two days per week. The best way to describe it is from the very start it really felt like home from home and we had no hesitation at all in it providing what we were looking for.

We hope you don’t mind but as we approach the end of our son's first few weeks, we just wanted to express our sincere gratitude to staff for their part in making it such a success. 🙂He is clearly so happy and settled already, it actually feels like he’s been with you a lot longer. To be in such an inclusive, positive, welcoming and secure environment and be surrounded by such supportive, understanding, kind, encouraging, professional staff, as parents we are extremely grateful for, especially as a Nursery worker myself. Thank you for the genuine care you have shown to both our son and ourselves. We therefore have no doubt he will develop (both confidence and independence) in leaps and bounds.

Thank you so much for recognising and valuing our son for the special person he is, bringing his well known smile back and aiding him in reaching his full potential. We look forward to many happy year’s ahead. It is also lovely to see him so proud of himself.

Hope you have an enjoyable well deserved break next week, as we will, but know our son will be eager to return. Take care.

Kindest regards,

P.S we bought our son a halloween sloth soft toy and decided to name it Glen.

Hi deltacq53,

Firstly, thank you so much for sharing your story. We really appreciate you taking the time to do so, feedback is so important to us in terms of improving and developing our services.

My name is Jemma Reid and I am the manager within Gleneagles Day Opportunities. I am so pleased to read about your sons transition into the service, and his experience during his first few weeks with us. I'm really glad to hear that you have found the service to be inclusive, positive and welcoming as this is what we strive for within our service.

I plan to share your feedback with Katie who is our Transition Co-ordinator, and also with our team here at Gleneagles Day Opportunities.

As a team we look forward to continuing to support your son to work towards his outcomes within our service, and I also hope to meet Glen the Sloth!

Kind Regards,

Jemma
