"I am beyond grateful"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Daisy Hill Hospital / Radiography services

(as a service user),

I suffered an aneurysmal rupture recently and after the resultant headache failed to respond to analgaesia, fluids and rest, I contacted the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Phone First triage team. I was directed to go to my nearest ED urgently.

The Doctor who saw me in Daisyhill Hospital referred me for a brain scan and CT angiogram which confirmed his suspicions of a subarachnoid haemorrhage. I was then transferred by ambulance to Belfast for surgery.

Many thanks to the doctor - whose name I can’t remember due to the horrific pain I was  in and whose name badge I couldn’t read due to accompanying photophobia. I am beyond grateful that he recognised my symptoms and acted so quickly.

I would love to send this doctor a thank you card.
