The care I received from everybody was amazing. I came is as an emergency tib/fib leg break. Immediately the paramedics set me at ease and looked after me in the ambulance and while waiting for initial treatment and a bed.
Everything that was being done was explained, which helped keep anxiety to a minimum.
On Otter Ward, while waiting for the main operation, all staff made me welcome - nurses, assistants, cooks (especially the Scottish male cook). Despite delays (because of my relative age and health) were explained by the very apologetic doctors/surgeons.
After care in Resus and Durbin Ward was again exemplary - in a much more demanding ward, I never felt uncared for.
Not a single person put a foot wrong, despite obviously being super busy and super stressed.
I tried my best not to add to it (the doctor described me as the calmest patient in the hospital, despite being delayed 3 days!)
Thank you.
