I was phoned around the time of my booking appt and asked if I wished to be part of the CoMC service. Sarah was my midwife and was there for my midwife appts, consultant appts, was present during my induction and supported me through my c section, then came to visit myself and my child at home when we were discharged.
I was able to meet the other midwives on the CoMC team via a meet and greet session and at appts during my pregnancy. Having a midwife who I could contact throughout my pregnancy journey was invaluable - I have a history of cancer and other health concerns and got great reassurance from having someone who knew my history and could monitor and support me throughout my first pregnancy and birth - this was priceless.
Sarah had such a positive impact on my journey and experience with the southern trust pregnancy services. Having already met Sarah and Breege, who were present for my induction and early labour, meant that when things weren’t progressing well that decisions were made promptly, and I trusted the decision to go for emergency c section, and I was so well supported by the CoMC team.
Also special mention to Vicky who I attended for reflexology via the CoMC team - such a great member of the trust. I believe this team has great value for the trust and for all mothers to be now and in the future. I hope that if I become pregnant again in future that I will be part of the CoMC team again.
