"We will forever hold a special place in our heart"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18)

(as a relative),

My dad was in hospital for 9 months. During his time he had spent 8 weeks in ICU and went between wards 18 and 17.

The care and compassion my dad and my family were shown was absolutely amazing. I want to express my thanks to all grades of staff for the amazing work they do.

I am a health care professional myself and I have nothing but praise for everyone. However a special thanks has to go Mr Anderson, who went above and beyond for my dad. He fought with him all the way.

Unfortunately dad passed away, but we will forever hold a special place in our heart for Mr Anderson, his team and staff.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion of your dad's time in University Hospital Wishaw.

Firstly, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am pleased to hear that the staff who cared for your dad across the different departments did so with care and compassion towards both him and your family. This must have been very reassuring during such a worrying time.

I will ensure that Mr Anderson, as well as the wider teams, receive the praise and feedback you have kindly provided. I am sure they will be pleased to know that their efforts and commitment have not gone unnoticed.
