"Day Opportunities Christmas Ball"

About: Learning Disability Community Services / Day Opportunities

(as a service user),

I am very happy with all the base coming together, Newtownabbey,  Carrickfergus and Larne Base.

I had a brilliant time with lovely people like Lee my interpreter, Gerri I love to see at the base and party.  I loved getting photos with Lynne, Gerri and Lee who are all great with me.  Mark was fab also he looks after me. I got loads of lovely photos with my good friends Barry, Stephen, Shane and James.  The photos were great for me as I am Deaf and cannot hear the music, I can feel the vibrations which I enjoy also.

I felt really brilliant and happy with the ball, I had bad news that day and the ball and people there really cheered me up.

The Hotel was beautiful I really liked the lights, the Christmas feeling and the DJ was good with the lights too.  I loved the venue, my only little disappointment was it can be a little hard to get to the room if you have a physical disability.  The staff at the venue really helped me and were very nice. The food was delicious!!

I loved how everyone looked after me, making sure I could get to the bathroom through the dancefloor and opening doors for me.

The ball made me feel really happy, I loves seeing my friends having a great time and dancing, I even had a dance with some friends and Lee  It has helped me connect more with my of me base friends still talking about the party 1 week later.

I want to thank everyone who looked after me and organized the party.

Dear Lizht69, my name is Garth Anderson and I have responsibility for the Day Opportunities Service which includes the recreational Base services across our Trust.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. I had an opportunity on Monday past to speak to some other service users who attended this Christmas Ball from the Base facility you attend and they all said how much they enjoyed it.

It was wonderful to read how much this meant to you and how important your friendships made at this facility are. I'm sorry to hear you had received bad news on the day of the Ball and how much the fun at the ball lifted your spirits.

I'm so pleased the photographs; the food; the disco lights and vibrations were of a high standard and great to hear how our Day Opportunities team planned this event and looked after you throughout the night with your interpreter from the Trust.

I look forward to calling at your Base facility again and hopefully you might be there.

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and thank you again for taking the time to post your feedback.

Garth Anderson
