After receiving excellent treatment at A&E on Friday morning when I snapped a tendon in my finger I was booked in to the clinic at 1415hrs on Monday 7th oct 2013 to get a custom made splint for my finger. Having arrived at 1400hrs I booked in with the receptionist and I observed her write 1415hrs on my file. I was instructed to wait in the large waiting room to be seen by the consultant. When 1415hrs passed by the waiting room was getting busy and I noticed that patients arriving after me where being seen before me. At 1500hrs I still had not been seen and at no time did any of the staff advise that the clinic was running late. Eventually at 1535hrs I asked a nurse why I had not been seen yet even though my appointment was 1415hrs. As she was looking for my file the consultant called me in. When I got in the room he confirmed that yes I had snapped a tendon with no damage to the bone. He then advised me that I required a custom made splint, which is what I thought I was there for, and this would be done in another department. The consultant tried to contact this department but could not make contact so he advised me that if I do not receive a call from them within 2 days I was to call his secretary. I think this was a complete waste of my time and I am still no further forward with my treatment.
