This is my experience. You ask for therapy, you get told you’re on the list. You NEVER reach the top of the list; you probably were never put on the list. You ask for help in crisis, there is none. You get asked to be referred to the crisis team, you get told there is none. You ask to get referred to the home treatment team, you get told there is none-There is no staff
You ask for help in a crisis, you get told there is none. You ask to speak to your person, they’re never there. You speak to the duty team, you get belittled. You get talked down to. You get told they will not help you. You try to refer yourself to another service, you get told you cannot be moved because you’re under this one. You ask for help from this service, you get told there is none. You get told the nhs have a duty of care, there is none. You get told that someone will help with something, get a message over, or make contact with someone. It never happens.
My mental health is poor, yes, but the way I have been consistently let down over the last 4 years of being with them (and I know the limitation is 3 else I’d be saying a LOT more) has made it worse. You are the building of lost hope. You are the bearers of broken promises. And that’s why most of the staff I had dealt with had all left. The situation is just abhorrent.
The people left that care, cannot fulfil their caring duty, and they will leave. And this service has made my mental health so much worse. And once I have used up the last worker I have willing to work with me, I will be discharging myself. Because I’d rather end up on a psych ward after mentally popping, than to be let down for another 4 years. Will be 5 this year. In my experience you are not fit to aid -complex mental health needs. You are not fit to care for neurodiverse patients; you are not fit to care for autistic patients, you are not fit to deal with adhd patients.
The fact of the matter is, if I had a choice I’d go anywhere else. But I can’t. Because of this service! I cannot access any other care facilities/buildings/options, that are not an in house facility/tertiary care. I cannot even access talking therapy, because I am under this service, that will not provide me any psychological intervention, despite being non crisis multiple times under their care (and currently). What is the point in this service. Please. I’d love to know. Coz I got therapy 3 years ago and apparently that’s enough despite me being a state during a state after and ever since, and considering the therapist said I needed further help and I never received it. What’s the point. What’s the purpose.
