Today, we received (finally after 7 months since the last inspection) the CQC inspection report. I have read the report, concentrating mainly on what applies to our ward, which is Grampian, the deaf services ward. I must be honest and say that what the CQC has said about our ward is a load of rubbish. I am wracking my brains to try to be civil and choose my language carefully but I am exasperated at the report, highlighting failures at Grampian. I would like to say that the ward manager particularly, has done a fantastic job in promoting equality on the ward and to ensure that our needs and safety are met. He goes out of the way to ensure that we receive the support that we need in order to function both on the ward and off the ward too. The staff on the ward are all learning to use BSL to communicate with us and some have achieved goods levels of qualification in order to do so. The CQC has lacked insight and have passed judgement unfairly and I will be sure to address that issue when they come to do the next inspection. Rant over.
