I met Elise, a student nurse from the University of Stirling during my visit to the pre op assessment unit.
She introduced herself and told me that she was going to take my weight and height. We laughed when I told her that I was too short and too heavy!
I was then seen by Sarah who told me what was going to happen and started to ask a number of health questions, after the basic facts as to name, address, D.O.B. etc., were taken.
Both could not have been more professional, friendly, thoughtful and caring.
The whole process took close on an hour and there was no feeling of being rushed. All my questions were answered fully and Sarah made sure that I understood what was going to happen prior to my planned operation, due to take place in one week's time. I was totally reassured and put at ease during the whole time I was in the room.
Both Sarah and Elise are a credit to the N.H.S. Elise is going to make a great nurse and Sarah already is a very professional, highly competent and caring nurse as well.
"A credit to the NHS"
