Anything else?
I had my daughter at the Whittington in June 2013 and I cannot speak highly enough of the care my family and I received. The maternity and antenatal care was excellent, especially the triage line and maternity day unit, which were on hand in the last few weeks of my pregnancy when I had a few questions and health scares. I wanted to have my baby in the birth centre, and was initially admitted there when I was in established labour. The facilities and staff were fantastic and it would have been great if i had managed to give birth there. Unfortunately I ended up in the labour ward eventually with an epidural and forceps delivery in theatre - not the natural birth I had dreamed of but again the care was outstanding. The staff were friendly, supportive and caring and we were involved in all decisions so felt very much in control. The facilities were also great with everything in one place so no being wheeled down corridors on a trolley! Our baby was a little unwell when she was born so we also sampled the NICU and spent 5 days on the post-natal ward. Again in both of these wards our expectations were exceeded by the excellent staff. The postnatal ward was a little old, but it is an old hospital and the facilities were more than ok. There was never a moment I didn't feel listened to, respected and supported. I wholeheartedly recommend the Whittington to any parents.
"Outstanding maternity and postnatal care"
